Derry City F.C V. Finn Harps , Ballyboffey, 7.45pm, 18 August .(1-0)

FAI Cup

5000 fans attended the highly anticipated Derby match and despite the typical weather the spirit of the fans was not to be dampened. Derry were very much in control in the first half and almost immediately after the starting whistle had a shout fro a penalty as Pat Mc Court was brought to the floor within Finn Harps penalty area. Ken Oman met Peter Hutton’s free kick to power a header past James Gallagher in the Harps goal after just nine minutes. However in the second half the fans experienced a much different game with Derry failing to conjure much fluency going forward and the players losing their composure with there playing mentality. The game was played end-to-end throughout the rest of night. A good result for Derry none of the less which means qualification into the Quarter-finals. The Pride Of Northside SC drove up in their fully booked bus for a god night; check out the photos in the "Club's Photos" section.
